Orvieto

Orvieto, in Umbria, is a city with a historical and artistic heritage that is unique in some ways. A ‘museum’ city that has experienced different historical eras, with nearly three thousand years of history that will captivate and fascinate. Orvieto, a small treasure chest of art, is world famous above all for the Duomo, a marvel of European Gothic architecture. In the centre of Orvieto, near the gardens with Etruscan remains, is St Patrick’s Well, which was built in the 16th century to ensure water for the town at all times of the year, in the event of calamity or a prolonged state of siege.
